We are dedicated to the use of energy-efficient and earth-friendly methods in our designs.

The Kastrop Group, Inc. Architects was founded in 1994 and is located in downtown Redwood City, California.

Principal Architect D. Michael Kastrop, A.I.A. has over 30 years of architectural experience, including involvement in all phases of residential, commercial, retail, institutional, industrial, and historic restoration projects. He is an experienced feng shui practitioner. Mike has hands-on involvement in every Kastrop Group project.

The Kastrop Group, Inc. Architects is proud to announce that we have just been awarded:
San Mateo County's Green Business Certification!

Kastrop Group Award Winning Green Approach to Architecture We are one of the first 16 businesses to receive certification in our entire county. San Mateo County has been working on a pilot program for the past year. County and city agencies have been working together to evaluate a small number of green businesses. In order to be certified, we had to document our practices, be inspected by various agencies and companies, and receive approvals in the following areas:

water conservation,
energy conservation (electrical and gas primarily, but also gasoline and other resources),
solid waste reduction and recycling,
pollution prevention,
ongoing employee training and compliance.

San Mateo County plans to roll out a full certification program for many more businesses soon. The Kastrop Group, Inc. Architects has agreed to assist the County in planning and implementing this rollout. We hope that the Green Business Certification will be something that all businesses (small and large) will strive to achieve. We are very pleased and excited to be at the forefront of this critically important process to improve our world for future generations.
